Acute Hospital Care at Home (AHCAH) Data Now Available

CMS is pleased to announce the availability of a new set of Research Identifiable Files (RIFs) for the Acute Hospital Care at Home (AHCAH) initiative. This is the second release of the data, covering the time period from April 2023 through September 2025.

Research Data Request & Access Policy Changes Update

CMS appreciates the feedback researchers provided over the past 18 months in response to CMS’ Request for Information and feedback opportunity. Based on this feedback, CMS has decided to delay the requirement to transition all research studies into the CCW VRDC indefinitely. Instead, CMS is implementing updated security requirements to better protect patient information while still meeting researchers’ needs. CMS is pleased to announce the release of the enhanced Master Beneficiary Summary File (MBSF) Base A/B/C/D Version 2 (V2) file starting with the 2023 enrollment year. Additionally, the MBSF Other Chronic and Potentially Disabling Conditions (OTCC) file has also been improved.
