Nathan Shippee, PhD, MS

Dr. Nathan Shippee earned his Masters in Science and Ph.D. in Sociology from Purdue University. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the Minnesota State Univeristy - Moorhead. After completing a Fulbright research fellowship, he worked as a Research Fellow, and then Assistant Professor, at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Dr. Shippee is a sociologist and outcomes researcher. His research focuses on how social and clinical factors complicate care and outcomes for patients with chronic conditions.

Beth Virnig, PhD, MPH

Dr. Beth Virnig is the Dean and Robert G Frank Endowed Professor at the University of Florida College of Public Health and Health Professions. Previously, she was at the University of Minnesota from 1997-2022. Her leadership roles included Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Research in the School of Public Health and Principal Investigator and Director of ResDAC. She has over 25 years of experience working with Medicare data and has taught graduate level courses on the use of administrative data.
