RIF Application: Collaborating Organization Supplement

Purpose of this document

The Collaborating Organization Supplement documents the roles and responsibilities of the external collaborating organizations who will be accessing identifiable data and how the necessary data security requirements will be met.

Who uses this document

All RIF requests that include collaborating organizations that will have access to individual-level data must complete a Collaborating Organization Supplement.

Key definitions

Who is a collaborator? A collaborator is an individual from a Collaborating Organization who will actively participate in the research and will view or access unaggregated data or results that do not meet the cell suppression policy outlined in section 5 of the CMS DUA.

What is a collaborating organization? A collaborating organization works with the Requesting Organization, is involved in the research and will be viewing or accessing unaggregated data or results that do not meet the cell suppression policy outlined in section 5 of the CMS DUA.
