This variable is the number of months during the year that the beneficiary was enrolled in Medicare — and not dually eligible for full Medicare-Medicaid benefits.

Comments

CCW calculates this variable as the count of months where a beneficiary is enrolled in Medicare and the monthly dual status code from the MBSF did not indicate eligibility for full or partial dual Medicare-Medicaid benefits (i.e., where DUAL_STUS_CD_MM NOT IN ('01' '02' '03' '04' '05' '06' '08').

Values: 0-12, or null/missing (if no Medicaid enrollment)
