ICD-10 Cause of Death Code

ICD_CODE

This field identifies only the ICD-10 diagnosis code associated with cause of death. The text descriptor for this code is in the field called ICD_TITLE.

Comments

All ICD–10 cause of death codes begin with an alpha character followed by two or three digits. NDI results do not include decimals in the cause of death codes. The decimal is implied between the second and third digits for ICD–10 codes. Available for 1999-2016. Researchers wishing to obtain this NDI segment of the MBSF must obtain an additional approval beyond the CMS DUA.
