| 0 | No incontinent events during the assessment period |
| 1 | Incontinent events less than daily (on at least one day but not every day during the assessment period) |
| 2 | Incontinent events daily (at least once a day on each day during the assessment period) |
| 3 | Incontinent events more than daily (more than once a day on each day during the assessment period) |
| 8 | Not applicable (e.g. patient/resident has indwelling catheter or no urine output due to renal failure) |
| 9 | Unknown or unable to assess |
