The charge amount (rounded to whole dollars) for durable medical equipment (DME) (purchase of new DME and rentals) related to the beneficiary's stay.

Comments

This field is derived by accumulating the revenue center total charge amount associated with revenue center codes 0290, 0291, 0292, and 0294–0299 from all claim records included in the stay.

Note that an additional field contains charge amounts for used DME (variable called UDME_AMT).
