This field identifies the discount percentage which will be applied to payment for all participating hospitals' DRG over the lifetime of the Bundled Payments for Care Improvement initiative (BPCI, Model 1).

Comments

The hospital must be participating in the Model 1 of the BPCI (refer to CLM_CARE_IMPRVMT_MODEL_CD1). The dollar amount of the payment reduction for the service is in the field called CLM_BNDLD_ADJSTMT_PMT_AMT.

This field was new in 2013, and is null/missing for all previous years.
