This field represents the amount the claim was reduced for those hospitals participating in Model 1 of the Bundled Payments for Care Improvement initiative (BPCI, Model 1).

Comments

The hospital must be participating in the Model 1 of the Bundled Payments for Care Improvement initiative (refer to CLM_CARE_IMPRVMT_MODEL_CD1). The percentage of the discount that this amount represents is in the field called CLM_BNDLD_MODEL_1_DSCNT_PCT.

This field was new in 2013, and is null/missing for all previous years.
